Paintings of Los Angeles
By Peter Wowkowych
Peter Wowkowych is an artist and architect working in Santa Monica, California. His paintings are made with encaustics, an ancient Egyptian painting method which uses hot beeswax, pigments and damar resin.
His current body of paintings explore an abstracted California landscape, finding the border places that either separate or connect us with the land. Peter’s work is interested in exploring the experiences in and out of our bodies, how real and imagined places shape who we become.
