Dear Dave,
I/We all miss you so very much.
Do you know how much you meant
to the people around you?

You were always such a sweet and
gentle man (even as a boy too).
I never heard you complain, 
even though you had much to 
complain about – like going to Harvard 
and walking around on your sore hip!
I never heard you say “This is unfair”

I wish I had learned that from you.
I’ve told you before but it bears repeating:
You are the bravest man I’ve ever known.
So glad you are at peace now –
with your infectious smiles AND awesome laughs 
and very still hands and heart.

I miss you so much, my dear brave bro
